EVESHAM'S Birmingham League Division Three revi-val was brought to an abrupt end when they cra-shed to a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Kings Heath.

Missing the services of the influential Neal Radford, the home side were indebted to skipper Barry Clements in setting a decent target that the visitors had few problems in overhauling.

Clements held the Evesham innings together when finishing unbeaten on 108 out of the 176-8 his side could muster off 55 overs.

Kings Heath also boasted a centurion in overseas player Nelson who hit 131 not out, while Warren Irvine's 4-59 was all the losers had to boast about in the bowling department.

A tightly bunched table sees Evesham in mid-table with just ten points separating the next three teams but teams further down the table having the ability to make upward movements.

A win on Saturday at fourth-placed Moseley Ash-field could be just the boost the Avon Street outfit need to propel them up the table during the second half of the summer.

The club's Sunday League success continued when they overcame Astwood Bank by 14 runs.

Irvine, Will Bailey and Andy Shorey led the way at the top of the order to a total of 205, while the former pair returned to end home resistance and ensure Evesham remain top of the table.
