SEVENTEEN dramatic runs off the last eight-ball over catapulted Kidderminster Victoria into the Birmingham League Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Last week's exciting win at Premier Division Old Hill was a real feather in the KVCC cap and they now have a semi-final next Wednesday.

Walsall or Penkridge will be the opponents at Chester Road from 6.30pm in the competition which is based on 15 eight-ball overs.

Old Hill recorded 121-8 with Rehman (25) top scoring against the bowling of skipper Ted Baylis (3-33), Peter Stevens (2-19) and Mark Mansell (1-31).

With the loss of early wickets and a shortage of runs, things did not look good for KVCC as Matt Friedlander ran out of partners.

KVCC had only scored 60 runs from nine overs with Mansell contributing 10 and when Friedlander departed for 39, they had an uphill struggle

The town side were left requiring 35 runs from 16 balls and the outcome depended on Baylis who had bowled well.

But he did not fail as he combined with Andrew Siwicki to take KVCC into the semi-finals.

In the final over, 15 runs arrived off the first five balls and Siwicki struck the winning runs from the last delivery.

Old Hill wicket-keeper Paul Vinas did his best to hold up KVCC with four stumpings.

Old Hill 121-8, KVCC 124-7.
