BUSINESS people in Kidderminster's Church Street had their annual delivery of cake and buns as a centuries-old tradition was kept alive.
Each year, on Midsummer's Eve, one of the companies based in the street is responsible for the daytime delivery, designed to promote goodwill between the neighbouring businesses.
This year, it was the turn of Serfis Construction to do the rounds.
It was followed in the evening by the Pipes of Peace supper, which dates back to 1778 and was established using a legacy of £150 left by benefactor, John Brecknell.
This year's supper, organised by the charitable John Brecknell Trust and held in the chantry of St Mary's Church, raised £237, which will be donated to the Brambles Trust.
The John Brecknell Trust is thought to be one of the UK's oldest charities and the Church Street Midsummer's Eve traditions are likewise considered among the longest running of their types.
