REGARDING the issue of travellers imposing on private land and setting up camp, while I do not agree with the situation, I appreciate the concern of landowners who are affected,
But I think it's time each county took responsibility for these people and gave them permanent sites with appropriate amenities so their children can have the advantage of local schooling and medical care.
We have become a nation of nimbys and do not care what happens to the likes of travellers and gipsies as long as they are out of our sight and sound.
Sir Michael Spicer (above) would do well to look at the situation of these folk long term, rather than look upon them as social lepers.
