SUNDAY'S Clubs League win over Barnt Green has put Evesham back in pole position in their defence of the title.
The visitors arrived at Avon Street in top spot but found their resurgent hosts a tough nut to crack and they slipped to a five-wicket reverse.
Warren Irvine struck an early blow on a low track after Barnt Green had decided to bat first but a second wicket stand of 94 gave the leaders a solid platform,
However, the loss of five wickets for the addition of 16 runs, shifted the balance of power Evesham's way and a final total of 186 didn't really test the home side's batting line-up.
Gary Lewis (68) proved a rock in reply as he stood firm after the loss of three cheap wickets.
The opener found an able ally in Mike Granacki (61no) and the pair added 117 for the fourth wicket that proved crucial in the final count as the hosts regained the summit spot.
