The June meeting included Wendy Hunter's report on the food and craft day at the Ramada Hotel, Bewdley. Mrs Hunter, Edna Rowlands, Jean Johnson and Eileen Fuller represented Cookley in the village's bridge competition, where they came third.
Ned Williams's talk entitled "The Co-op movement and its beginnings", was illustrated with slides.
The Co-op was started in Rochdale by weavers known as the Rochdale Equitable Pioneers Society. A women's Co-operative Guild was set up in 1898 in Bloxwich.
A party visited the Rose Theatre, Kidderminster, to see the WI Performing Arts Group variety show.
The flower, craft and produce show, due to be held on September 18, has been cancelled.
Cookley will enter flowers for the "Love Of" display in St Peter's Church from July 9 until 11.
On July 12 Sue White will give a talk called "Smallest to Largest" in the Eagle and Spur, Cookley at 7.15pm, when visitors and new members will be welcome.
