POLICE want to speak to two women who found a 59-year-old man, who had been mugged, unconscious in a Kidderminster park.

Officers are trying to piece together what happened to the man, who they believed had been hit around the head and knocked to the ground and hoped the women could provide more information.

A police spokeswoman said it was likely he had been in the park for "some time" before being discovered.

The two women had called an ambulance after finding the man, who had £80 in cash and a watch stolen in the June 8 attack.

Police were also seeking two men, in their 20s, in connection with the assault.

The man was treated and discharged from Worcestershire Royal Hospital for bruising and a minor cut to his neck.

DC Alan Roberts, of Kidderminster police, said: "We are appealing for anyone with information, particularly the two females who discovered the man and called an ambulance, to contact us. It may be that they have vital information about the incident or that they saw who committed the offence."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Alan Roberts on 08457 444888 or to ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
