KIDDERMINSTER angler Paul McRay landed six catfish with the heaviest a 36lb 8oz whopper at Shatterford Fishery.

McRay's catch included four catfish weighing more than 30lb and two in the high 20lbs during a 48-hour session on the Erics Lake.

Another angler managed seven carp to 19lb on trout pellets at the same venue.

The Gainsborough Lake produced a 44lb catfish, caught with trout, an 18lb mirror with boilies and a 25lb catfish.

The latter was caught by a Stourbridge angler who also pulled a 44lb 8oz catfish, a new fishery record.

There were good hauls of fish in the night sessions on the Stuarts where some 10lb-plus grass carp fell to dog biscuits and maggots.

On the trout scene, a damsel was used on the Masters to tempt a 6lb fish, while another angler bagged four with a weight of 22lb.

Four trout to 2lb 3oz were caught with a fritz on the Wyre Dell and three to 1lb 8oz fell to a black and gold nymph on the Stella.
