MORE than 1,200 young athletes competed at this year's Worcestershire All Sports Partnership Youth Games.
Some of the county's hottest sporting prospects descended on Nunnery Wood Sports Centre in Worcester last Sunday for the sixth annual event.
Athletes aged between ten and 16-years-old took part in athletics, basketball, cricket, girls' football, hockey, netball, girls' tag rugby, mixed tag rugby and tennis. Over 200 volunteers, coaches and officials also supported the event.
The six Worcestershire districts of Bromsgrove, Malvern Hills, Redditch, Worcester, Wychavon and Wyre Forest all competed in the different sports.
Wychavon won the girls' U12s football and girls' U13s netball, while a combined Wychavon and Redditch team won the girls' disability football. Wychavon also won the fair play award in the girls' U15s netball.
Bromsgrove won the U13s mixed tennis thanks to their team of Jack Kendall, Cobie Cieslik, Kate Forrester and Katherine Smedley.
