EVERY day another 100 people will start to lose their sight. The Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB) helps to rebuild those lives devastated by sight loss.
We estimate that there are over 2,500 registered blind and partially sighted people in Worcestershire alone, although there are still many more who are not registered with the majority being elderly.
As an organisation we receive no Government or statutory funding and rely on the generous donations from the general public. Much of our funding comes through our famous 'Sooty' collecting boxes, which will be a familiar sight to many of your readers.
I am writing to ask for volunteers to help empty Sooty, count and bank his contents so that the RNIB can continue to provide our many great services.
Any readers who feel they can offer a few hours a week to undertake this rewarding work can contact me on 0121 428 4384 for an informal chat.
