PERFORMING more than 3,250 times over the past 16 years has earned blues-rock group The Hamsters their place in musical history.

Although renowned as serious, hard-edged musicians with a huge collection of self-penned songs, they will be treating fans to a rare Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top tribute when they appear at the Roses, Tewkesbury, on Saturday, May 22.

The legendary sound of 1970s super-group the Eagles is resurrected the day after, Sunday, May 23, by five-piece Talon.

Faithfully brilliant to the original music, fans will be treated to a fabulous acoustic version of Hotel California and the five-part harmony Seven Bridges Road. But the group also promises to rock the house with renditions of Heartache Tonight and Life in the Fast Lane.

The talent of young actors from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School will also be showcased in The Witch of Edmonton. The remarkable Jacobean classic is based on real-life events in Middlesex in 1621 and will be staged at the Roses on Wednesday, May 26.

Murderous young men, bewitched women, agitated livestock and failing crops combine in this entertaining tragi-comedy that is brilliantly provocative, humane, humorous and haunting.
