THE announcement by National Health Service auditors that Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust has an over-spend of £9.9 million for the year 2002-2003, one of the worst in the country, will come as no surprise to the vast majority of the Wyre Forest electorate.

The figures confirm that the decimation of health services in the area, with the downgrading of Kidderminster Hospital, were not only totally unacceptable for health care in the area, but unworkable, and financially bankrupt.
