TROUT fishing topped the day as one angler used a daddy to catch a rainbow with a bag weight of 16lb 8oz.

A fellow masters entrant used a hare's ear for fish weighing 16lb 4oz.

On the Stella Lake, a buzzer helped catch rainbow trout to 2lb and the Wyre Dell honours went to a Dudley man who used an olive to snare nine trout to 2lb.

The coarse fishing groups caught a mixed bag of fish with popped-up trout on the Erics landing 10 catfish to 41lb.

Another angler used the same bait for two catfish of 35lb 8oz but also employed boilies to fish a 10lb carp. A whopping 35lb catfish fell in a separate catch.

At the Gainsborough, a record carp weighing 32lb 4oz and five others to 15lb were produced by one man. Others claimed two carp to 27lb 8oz and five to 20lb.
