JOHN Brain has laughed off Rotherham's protestations over the signing of Brad MacLeod-Henderson.

Since Worcester made the ann-ouncement this week, the South Yorkshire club have consistently denied that the South African has signed on at Sixways.

However, Worcester's director of rugby is more than happy to put the record straight for Sixways supporters.

"If they want, Rotherham can come to Worcester and look at his contract," said Brain.

"They can say what they want. He's signed for Worcester and he'll be playing at Sixways next season. That's all there is to it.

"I'm pleased with the way recruitment is going for us. We've brought in some real quality. They are not necessarily big names that everybody has heard of but they are players that we have targeted and gone after rather than agents calling us first.

"Leon Greef is a very positive signing for us because he is the type of person you want on board.

"He's a very committed player whoever he plays for and he's one that you know will give 110 per cent."

Worcester have brought in nine new faces since the season ended with Pat Sanderson, Clive Stuart-Smith, Siaosi Vaili, Dale Rasmussen, Tom Bowman, Phil Murphy, MacLeod-Henderson, Steven Sparks and Greef signing on.

With a number of those players on the verge of the international scene, Brain is convinced he has the right blend of players for the Premiership.

"Obviously we have to look at internationals but you weigh that up with the possibility that they could miss a chunk of your season," said Brain.

"With players like Clive Stuart-Smith, he is on the verge of big things. If he continues to develop, he could be the England captain in five years time.

"What that means, though, is that he's desperate to impress and that has to be good for Worcester. We've got Matt Powell and Neil Cole already on board for next season so that area is very, very competitive.

"We've brought in quality players who feel they have something to prove. They are hungry for success and that's what you want."
