MEMBERS of Arden Sailing Club, based at Defford, gathered at Evesham for the first leg of the inter club tie on Sunday.
The event was cut from three races to two, because of the minimal amount of breeze and the swift flowing stream as the river was swollen by recent rains.
Congratulation must go to all sailors for their perseverance, with a special mention for Jeremy & Michelle Griffiths (Enterprise) who came fourth on the day and to Dave Harris (Solo) fifth.
Strong winds will be required for the return leg later in the year if Arden is to get the better of the fleet of British Moths from Evesham.
Members are reminded next week is the annual visit to Wyre Mill Sailing Club where all are sure of a warm welcome.
