THIS local derby Martley Cup final took place at Worcester City's ground on Sunday evening and saw supporters enjoy a game of end to end football.

LANGLAND SPORTS 2, HANLEY SWAN 0

Langland Sports' first half goal came when Karl Lancett played a one-two out of defence for Luke Dunn to find Jamie Abba. He drove forward and passed wide left for Nick Kordas, who fired the ball in the top right corner of the Hanley goal.

Hanley came back and had several chances but Pete Brannelly's ability to break down attacks in midfield and distribute the ball, along with Lee Henderson, stopped Hanley getting any real hold in the game.

Hanley Swan made two substitutions close to half time and had it not been for the outstanding Dale Humphries the score could well have been different.

With 30 minutes to go Bryan Craven came on and, despite two defenders closing in on him, he blasted the ball into the top of the net to make the final score 2-0.

Langland Lions Sports Club would like to thank managers Clifford Gardiner and Ali Barnes for taking over the team in difficult circumstances in mid-season.
