BEWDLEY resident, Hazel Rhoden, was given a prestigious award from the Princess Royal recognising the work of the town's women's section of the Royal British Legion.
Mrs Rhoden, chairman of the group, received the award for its work over the last four years during the organisation's national conference at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Princess Anne presented the award in her capacity as president of the women's section of the RBL.
She said: "The award was for fund raising, such as the Poppy Appeal, and progress with new members and our general activities throughout the last four years."
