WORCESTER City chairman Dave Boddy has scotched rumours linking Adam Wilde with a transfer to Weymouth.

The Dorset club made three bids to sign the winger before the March transfer deadline and speculation has resurfaced that he has been the subject of a £17,000 offer by the Terras.

But Boddy insists there are no plans to sell the 24-year-old.

"Adam is very much a part of our plans at the moment," he said.

"I think probably the rumours have arisen because of the potential travel problems with Adam living in Cambridge and our place in Conference North.

"Things of course do change in football but there are certainly no plans to sell him."

John Barton will meet his squad tomorrow to sort out his retained list for next season.

City's boss held over making any decision until the club's destination was confirmed.

Barton meanwhile is relishing the challenge of leading City in the Conference North but has warned it's going to be tough.

"This is the best of the best of the feeder leagues," he said. "Anybody who thinks that City are going to have a cakewalk is in for a shock.

"We're pleased and honoured to be competing but this is a tough new set up."

Bromsgrove Rovers, Evesham United and Stourport Swifts will play in Southern League Division One West in the revamped pyramid system.
