THE Hills Singers will perform a programme of accessible and well-known music in a concert on Saturday, May 15.
Sacred music from the 20th Century is the theme of the concert at 7.30pm in the Church of the Ascen-sion, Somers Park Avenue.
As all the pieces are under 60 years old and includes music by Britten and Tippett's Five Spirituals from A Child of our Time.
Conductor Carol Green said: "Some of the works, for example those by Gorecki and Tavener, have been specially chosen to make the most of the Ascension's wonderful acoustics."
The concert will also include a work by Bara Grimsdottir, an acclaimed Icelandic composer who has been singing with the group for the past two years.
She is known for her sacred choral works, mainly based on folk themes.
Tickets are £5 and are available on the door.
