The 10th anniversary of the International Year of the Family is being celebrated with a "Family Matters" conference at Spring Grove House, Bewdley, on Wednesday, June 30 from 9.30am until 4pm, extended to 5pm for informal worship and a park tour.

Speakers with first-hand knowledge of global and local problems challenging the family are: Abigail Tukulu, from South Africa, on "The Effects of HIV/Aids on Family Life"; Diana Bandy, a recent UN representative) on "United Nations and the Year of the Family", and member Liz Ross on "The Changes in Family Life".

The event will be chaired by the Bishop of Dudley, Rev David Walker.

The conference, with talks and workshops, will explore the changes in family life and give visitors the chance to discuss work/life balance, HIV/Aids, step families, and community issues.
