A VALE woman who completed last year's Race for Life half way through chemotherapy treatment has vowed to do it all again.

Nicole Touye, aged 41 from Evesham was diagnosed with breast cancer in January last year and underwent successful treatment. Now the mother of one is dedicating as much time as she can to raising money for cancer research so treatments and early diagnoses can continue to improve.

Nicole said: "Cancer has happened to me and I have been given a second chance. This disease is alarming and frightening and destroys peoples' lives and I am absolutely passionate about fighting it. The more people who take part in Race for Life the better - everyone knows someone who has cancer so we should all be doing something about it.

"There is no breast cancer in my family and having to listen to someone telling you that you have cancer when you think you are a fit young woman is terrible. There are too many people getting this diagnosis so I would urge people to go for it and do the Race for Life."

Since her battle with breast cancer Nicole has qualified as a complementary therapist, offering treatments in Evesham and Pershore. She also plans to train in lymphatic massage, something she had not considered before being diagnosed with cancer.

In October Nicole will be taking part in the Woman & Home's Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show at London's Park Lane Hilton. She will be modelling clothes from some of the world's top designers. She added: "I was really excited about being picked and am looking forward to taking part."
