STUDLEY High School pupils with a gift for learning have been enrolled in a new national organisation acknowledging their talents.
The students all have a prestigious place in the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, indicating they fall into the top five per cent of national academic ability.
Matthew Ashworth, Kimberley Averiss, Leigh Moss, Alexandra Green-Wilkes and Andrew Joyce all submitted a piece of work and gained excellent Key Stage test results for a place, said school head of languages Joan Hughes.
Matthew and Andrew have been in the academy for more than a year and Matthew recently attended a course entitled Monsters and Planets as part of it.
He said: "The course was presented in a fun way and was educational and entertaining.
"It brought science and creative writing together and we produced a fun and collaborative video, working in teams."
Mrs Hughes said: "We're very proud of the pupils and hope it encourages others."
