Redditch swimmer Jamie Mackay was selected to swim in the British Swimming 5km trials in Sheffield on Sunday, May 2.
During the 100 lengths of the 50m pool Mackay worked his way up the field and succeeded in taking 4th place for the men, in a time of one hour one minute.
Mackay's next long distance event will be the LEN cup in June, when he will swim the 5km in open water at Holme Pierrepoint, Nottingham.
