A DRAMTIC change for a local gallery should help put Worcestershire on the art world's map.

The Gallery at Bevere has been transformed into a centre for ceramic art and craft.

The refurbished gallery, which includes a totally new exhibition space and framing workshop, was re-opened on Friday, May 5.

About 120 invited guests, including past customers and future exhibitors, joined renowned art critic David Whiting, who opened the gallery and launched the first in a series of ceramic exhibitions. Alastair Taylor, who owns the gallery with wife Kim, said: "The exhibition programme will change each month to ensure that both collectors and the wider public regularly have new and exciting work to view and to buy.

"It is an ambitious programme already containing more than 20 of the country's best studio potters.

"We want to put The Gallery at Bevere and Worcester firmly on the art world's map."

The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday and the first Sunday of each month, from 10.30am to 5pm. Call 01905 754 484 for details.
