THE Redditch Company of Archers closed their indoor season with a visit to the National Indoor Championships, held at the National Sports Stadium at Lilleshall.
Four archers from Redditch passed through the morning qualification shoots to reach the final 32.
Andy Rikunenko and Eric Thomas were eliminated in the first round of the head-to-head shoot offs.
Bob Ball beat international archer Steve Gooden, by a very narrow margin and succeeded in reaching the quarter finals.
Jonathan Mynott and Bob Ball were then drawn against each other in the quarter finals. Mynott edged ahead after a very strong start from Ball and went through to the semi final where he lost to Simon Scott, but then beat Terry Course to take the bronze medal.
Simon Tarplee, of Evesham, won the event and becomes British Indoor Compound Champion.
Worcester County won the team event.
