JOHN Brain has admitted he may "freshen up" his side as Worcester go head-to-head with Coventry at Sixways tomorrow (3pm).

The two come together for a National One derby clash as the league leaders go in search of their 13th successive victory and the Warriors director of rugby is contemplating changes.

Worcester beat Pertemps Bees 18-0 in their last league outing but Brain and coach Keast were unhappy with the finishing on show.

Brain has delayed the naming of his side but revealed that centre David Officer may be set for a recall, while prop Lee Fortey could come back into the pack.

"We're mulling over a number of options in the backs division," said Brain. "Certainly we weren't too happy with the finishing at Solihull and we are looking to possibly freshen up things.

"David Officer is pushing hard for a recall while Gary Trueman is also available within the backs."

Brain may opt to leave out winger Jon Hylton and put Daren O'Leary back on the wing while making Ben Hinshelwood full back. That would leave the outside centre spot open for Officer.

The coaches are also toying with the idea of moving Tommy Hayes back to fly-half which would open up another centre position for Trueman.

Club captain Werner Swanepoel looks set to be fit for the game but may have to settle for a bench place. The only injury doubt, apart from long-term absentees Duncan Roke, Chris Garrard, Richard Bates and Nnamdi Ezulike, surrounds Gavin Pfister. The South African is once again struggling with his shoulder injury and, if he does not come through a fitness test, will be replaced at openside by Neil Mason.

"You don't know what to expect with Coventry which makes them a dangerous side," added Brain. "They have some good players but they seem to pick a different side each week. It's whether they gel but I'm sure a game at Sixways against Worcester will give them all the motivation they need because they know if they're not on their game then they could take a beating.

"Coventry picked up the best players from the two relegated sides in the summer and they've got John Cannon from Rotherham who we know is a very good player.

"What we need to focus on is our performance. We're asking for a big performance from the guys because we were disappointed that we didn't score the four tries against Birmingham & Solihull."
