THE comments of the Bishop of Worcester, (Evening News, Tuesday, March 2) were most disturbing.
It is not surprising that this resulted in numerous letters to You Say.
Those who disagree with the Bishop must accept that as a subject of Her Majesty The Queen, he, as do the members of the BNP and National Front, have the fast-diminishing privilege of free speech and expression.
It was astonishing the Bishop could boast, that together with Worcester churches and Muslims, he prevented the National Front from expressing themselves in the city.
It appears the Bishop, churches and Muslims see members of BNP and National Front as bogeymen and women who strike fear into the mind of the churches.
But after the carnage in Turkey, Bali and Madrid, it appears Her Majesty's subjects are in grave danger, not from BNP or National Front but from terrorists.
I wonder if the Bishop is aware that in his desire to destroy the British Constitution, Tony Blair intends to purge the Lords Spiritual, with the Law Lords, from the Upper House.
Fortunately, the Law Lords cherish the British Constitution.
THE REV D G GRIFFIN,
Newland, Malvern.
