CHRISTIAN Evans has been ruled out of action for another two weeks.

Worcester Rugby Club's flan-ker will miss the double header with Wakefield but is expected to be fit again in time to face Henley Hawks on November 8.

Evans, however, is breathing a sigh of relief after he was told no surgery would be required to repair for elbow injury which has already kept him out for two weeks.

The former Bristol man has a piece of bone floating in his elbow but, after taking specialist advice, it was decided rest would be enough to cure the problem. "If Chris was to have had surgery it would have only meant a 10-day scenario anyway," said Worcester's director of rugby John Brain.

"Chris does a very good job in the team and obviously we would like him to be available for selection.

"However, we realise that we've got some very hard games coming up in November and December and the main thing is to get him right for those."

Brain has a number of players with niggly injuries and will be making sure they are fully fit for a period which will see Worcester do battle with Bristol and Pertemps Bees.

"I am hoping that by the time we get to play Henley in November that I will have a fully fit squad to choose from."

Chris Hall has a niggly knee injury and will be monitored closely while Richard Bates is still recovering from his knee problem which he recently aggravated in training.

"Both aren't serious injuries," add-ed Brain.

"It's just a case of monitoring them closely and making sure they make progress.
