TWO more victories stand between Bromsgrove RFC First XV and a Midlands Two (West) title showdown with Derby next month.

Dean Ball's side, who sit second, journey to second bottom Hereford this Saturday and host third bottom Barkers Butts on April 3.

Maximum points, as well as league leaders Derby winning their fixtures, will set up a winner-takes-all clash at Derby on April 17. Just a point separates the sides at present.

Ball said: "The target is in sight but in the same breath it's not a sigh of relief. If we get there, then the work starts.

"Getting to that game is our first goal but our main goal is to get to that game and really let rip.

"The most important thing for us to do is build our performance for where we want to be going into that last fixture when we know we are going to have to fire on all cylinders.

"We know that's where we deserve to be on our performances and it would be a travesty not to get to that. The only thing that can beat us is ourselves.

"As long as we can do what we can do, nobody should be able to compete with us."

But, that said, Ball is not taking Hereford and Barkers Butts lightly. His side has already drawn 28-28 with the latter this season and Hereford are old adversaries.

He added: "Hereford has been very much a grudge fixture so hopefully that will fire us into performing well and if we can win it would be the first time I can remember a Bromsgrove first team going there and winning."
