KIDDERMINSTER Harriers today confirmed the signing of midfielder Adam Murray on an 18-month contract.

The 22-year-old midfielder, however, is ineligible to play in Saturday's home FA Cup clash with Wolves as he made a substitute appearance for Notts County earlier in the competition.

It will be the second spell at Aggborough for the former England U20 international who played three games for Harriers on loan from Derby County earlier this season.

Murray, whose career was put on hold while he recovered from alcohol-related problems, has also had non-contract outings for Solihull Borough, Burton Albion and more recently Notts County.

Harriers boss Jan Molby, who beat off a number of other clubs for the former England youth international's signature, said: "There was a lot of interest in him but the important thing is he wanted to come here and play for us.

"The problems he has had in his personal life have been well documented but coming here will allow him to begin a new chapter in his life and in his career.

"There's no doubting he's a very good player who I'm sure can still make it as a First Division footballer."

Molby, meanwhile, is delighted Harriers have boosted their confidence for the Wolves clash by taking a major step away from the threat of relegation.

Back-to-back wins over Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers have lifted them into 16th place in the Nationwide League Division Three table -- their highest position since early September.

Yesterday's 1-0 win over Rovers left them eight points away from the drop zone.

Molby said: "This is my 10th league game since I've been back and we have taken 17 points. You work that out over the season and that's automatic promotion form. So we are obviously doing something right and we have got to give the players credit for that."
