Worcester City Ladies 6,
Evesham Utd 2
AN INABILITY to make the most of their chances proved United's downfall last Sunday.
Tori Southern hit the side-netting when well placed after only two minutes, while Charlotte Benson-Wilson was unlucky when a free-kick struck a post.
The Evesham girls did take the lead after 21 minutes when Lola Hughes and Nicky Bond combined to send in Southern for the opener.
The scorer missed a good a chance to double Evesham's lead before poor defending allowed City to level from a corner.
Worcester added a second a minute later but it looked like it was all-square again when Benson-Wilson bent in a superb free-kick only for the referee to point out that it was indirect!
Another chance went begging before City made it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time.
United produced a disappointing second half show as they conceded two more goals before Southern scored her second to make it 5-2. City had the final say 15 minutes from time with the best goal of the game.
Evesham visit Bredon on Sunday for a 2pm kick-off.
