JOINT temporary manager Micky Brennan has issued an ultimatum to Evesham United's players in the wake of Phil Mullen's resignation.

"They can either have a go and help us get out of this mess or they can take the 'I can't be bothered attitude'", Brennan declared.

"If they take the latter approach then I don't want them here and I know that Westy feels the same.

"There will be no easy ride and it's more fool them if they think it's going to be easy. The players owe to it to the fans, committee and Phil because they have got the club in this trouble and they must do their best to put things right."

Paul West has agreed to assist Brennan in lifting the Robins from the depths of the Western Division but the duo's first task will be to put right a couple of knockout disasters when they visit Sutton Coldfield on Tuesday night in the first round of the Dr Martens League Cup.

"It will be a nice one to win and would set us up nicely for the two league games with Yate when a couple of wins could lift us into mid-table, Brennan admitted.
