THERE will be no sweeping changes when Dave Busst reflects on the abrupt end to Evesham United's recent revival, writes Mervyn Collins.

The Common Road chief was understandably upset at the way his charges gifted Taunton three first-half goals last Saturday after a good start.

"We started well but then switched off and let in three poor goals," the manager recalled.

"We've got to get back to basics and stop conceding and start scoring again. It's more or less the same side that dragged us out of trouble and I have every confidence they can get us back on track."

Busst will have to find a replacement for the suspended Marc Burrow for Saturday's home date with Mangotsfield, a side that has never picked up a point at Common Road.

"That's all in the past," Busst admitted. "They've got a new manager and I'm new here so previous results don't matter. They're a team that scores goals and concedes them so it will be another big test for us."

Mangotsfield hit Phil Mullen's Cinderford for six last Saturday and Busst is well aware that results at this stage of the season don't necessarily tally with the league table.

"Everyone is fighting for points and teams are even more determined against Evesham at the moment because of our good run," Busst declared.

Linton Bailey may step straight into Burrow's shoes if he comes through a midweek outing, but Busst has several other options, including moving Inderpaul Khela to central defence and playing either Kris Sage or Steve Shaw at left back.

The United boss also revealed that Jermaine Clarke was included in the starting line-up at Taunton because Craig Pountney was not 100 per cent fit after sustaining a dead leg.

A first home game for more than a month will be followed by three more within the space of eight days. Racing Club Warwick are the visitors for a friendly next Wednesday (7.30pm), Bedworth make the same trip on Saturday, February 28 before a rearranged Worcestershire derby with Bromsgrove Rovers on Tuesday, March 2 (7.45pm).

Match sponsor on Saturday is Danish Bacon Co of Petersfield, Hampshire and the match ball is sponsored by Evesham Mechanical Services of Swan Lane.

United's youth team make the trip to Alvechurch tonight in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division (7.45pm).
