A DEAN Perrow hat-trick condemned Stourport Swifts to a fifth straight defeat in all competitions on Saturday at Walshes Meadow.

Swifts lost 3-0 to promotion-chasing Sutton Coldfield Town in a Dr Martens Western Division clash played out in atrocious conditions.

While there was a fighting spirit shown in the injury-time defeat at Team Bath the previous weekend, their latest loss made for grim watching.

Perrow's hat-trick was too much to cope with and it could have been more as Sutton looked to keep pace with league leaders Redditch.

It took the visitors just 10 minutes to open their tally when Nicky Carter's corner reached the striker at the far post and he gratefully headed over the line.

With 31 minutes gone, Carter was again the provider when his well-timed pass sent Perrow in and he steered his shot past keeper Lee Evans from eight yards.

Sutton continued to dominate the chances and Naveed Arshad would have added his name to the scoresheet before the break had Steve Ulfig not cleared off the line.

Evans denied Perrow early in the second period but he claimed his hat-trick on 61 minutes.

The pressure finally told as he collected a high ball over the home defence before firing home for his hat-trick.

The closing stages saw Swifts finally create something in front of goal although it was too late to deny Sutton the points.

Andy Wright saw his header cleared off the line by Lucan Spittle before the lively Rob Taylor, on as a first-half substitute, sent an effort wide from 12-yards.

Five straight defeats or four points out of a possible 24. Whichever way you put it, it still makes grim reading for followers of the Swifts.
