Jenkins moved on to pastures new in December 2003 on an 18-month contract after 181 games over more than seven seasons at Swansea.

The midfielder or full-back, Jan Molby's first permanent signing in his second spell in charge at Harriers, is a hard-working, competitive player with an eye for a pass.

The Pontypool-born player was given his debut as a 17-year-old by Molby at Swansea and became a popular figure at the Vetch Field.

Jenkins earned Welsh schools, youth and nine U-21s caps in his time there but struggled to cement a place in their promotion-chasing side this season under Brian Flynn.

He played 39 league games as they were relegated from Division Two in 2001 and scored in a 2-0 win for Swansea over Harriers later that year, one of only three career goals.
