RICHARD Tomkins was in hospital with heavy concussion last night following a horror collision in Bromsgrove Rovers' 3-0 FA Trophy replay defeat by Weston-Super-Mare, which caused the match to be delayed by 23 minutes.
The Rovers midfielder was knocked unconscious for several minutes when he collided with Weston's William Clark after just four seconds of play.
Straight from the kick-off, the ball was moved out to the left, Tomkins and Clark jumped for the ball and smashed into each other.
An ambulance was immediately called and the players taken back to the dressing rooms while he received treatment. He was taken to hospital and at full time was said to be sitting up but suffering from heavy concussion.
Clark was also replaced shortly afterwards and taken to hospital for X-rays on his shoulder.
