FORMER Birmingham City striker Kevin Francis (pictured) has not ruled out the possibility of one day playing for Bromsgrove Rovers.

Francis, aged 36, has officially retired from the professional game following knee trouble and is currently working towards his coaching badges.

Transfer rumours started to circulate about possible moves to the Victoria Ground and rivals Redditch United after he was seen at both clubs.

But the 6ft 7in forward, who lives in Bromsgrove, said his presence at the clubs was simply to see friends and keep his fitness levels up.

He said: "I know Tom Herbert (Rovers chairman) and I have been seen down there (the Victoria Ground) and people have put two and two together and come up with five. But it wasn't a link to get myself a club it was just to keep myself fit."

However, Francis, whose last professional club was Hull City, did not put an end to the speculation of a move.

"It still might be possible," he said. "Once you have played it for a living you still want to play, you want to keep playing as long as possible."
