YOU may not have heard of The Fever just yet, but watch this space because they are already a hit with speccy Scottish folk duo The Proclaimers.

During the band's four-day guest tour round Scotland last month, which was a sell out, The Proclaimers could be spotted in the audience watching The Fever play.

But for those who couldn't make the gigs, which is understandable as some of the tickets were being sold on the internet for £90, The Fever will be playing a home date at Worcester's Marr's Bar next Friday.

Singer and guitarist Neil Ivisonis still on a high after that tour.

"The places were packed every night," he said.

"The Proclaimers watched us every gig, and afterwards we went into their dressing room and it was one big touring family.

"They were so down to earth - it was great to see.

"They helped us out with beer and food and they lent us their sound and lighting crew.

"They bought albums off us and we are keeping in touch on a personal level as friends."

The Proclaimers were not the only new fans who were smitten with The Fever's catchy rock tunes.

Around 300 people from the gigs have now joined The Fever's mailing list and have signed their guest book on their website www.feverbase.com

Aside from Neil, The Fever, who hail from Malvern and Bromyard, consist of George Elliotton bass and backing vocals, Lee Harris on drums, and Adam Barry on organ.

Followers of the local band circuit may remember them under their previous monicker of Seymour, which they changed to their sexier-sounding current name.

The support tour with The Proclaimers came about when the heard The Fever's album Call It What You Want after their toujr manager brought it to Australia with him.

The 10-track long-player was recorded in South Wales in March last year.

Tickets for The Marr's Bar gig in Pierpoint Street cost £3 in advance on 01885 400601 and 01905 831858, or £5 on the door.
