THERE'S no deep meaning hidden behind the band name Sideways Glance - it's simply what singer and songwriter Paul Sewell was doing when he was racking his brains trying to think of a name.
"It came into my head as I was glancing sideways, then I realised what I was doing and thought 'That name will do,' " he says.
The band have plenty to celebrate after the release just before Christmas of their 11-track album, Only Till The Next Time, which was recorded in Yorkshire in August last year.
Paul, the band's songwriter, says the lyrics are about his own experiences and the experiences of others.
"The songs are not political and we do have some love songs," says Paul.
"When I write, the lyrics just come into my head."
Aside from Paul, Sideways Glance consist of Mark Willmore on acoustic guitar, Martin Millington on lead guitar, Steve Millington on bass guitar, and Andy Witowski on drums.
The Worcester-based band have been gigging round the Worcester, Birmingham and London circuit.
Paul has been singing and playing acoustic guitar for more than 10 years.
"I have always liked writing songs, and my father plays guitar, so I learned from him," he says.
"My father played for his own recreation, and we used to sit down and play our guitars together.
"I use my guitar to write my songs on."
The album launch took place on Wednesday, December 17, at Worcester's Drummonds.
