ANDY Keast heaped praise on his Worcester Rugby Club side after seeing them outclass London Welsh 34-0 at Sixways.

With the backs enjoying so much possession due to an outstanding lineout platform, the Worcester coach was delighted with a real team display especially in the first half.

"We were very impressive in all areas in that first half," he said. "I don't want to analyse the second half until I've looked at the tape. However, the first half was a great display.

"That was our best 40 minutes of the season so far and that includes the second half effort against Orrell.

"It was back to the sort of standard that we played last season. We played with pace and intensity. We were very well organised and we hit the right areas against London Welsh. Five tries along with a very impressive lineout meant in all areas -- forwards, backs, set play, open play -- it was a really good half."

Keast, however, was far from happy with the officiating on show which meant just five more points in the second half.

"I'm not happy with the officials," he added.

"We've gone in at the break 29-0 up and in the second half we weren't allowed to get our game going. That wasn't helped by some dreadful refereeing.

"It all centred around the tackle ball area. London Welsh were just diving onto the ball and it's against the laws, simple as that.

"It's as if they referee the scoreboard and not the laws. It has to be consistent and unfortunately it wasn't."

Keast also singled out touch judge Tom Wigglesworth, the official who lost control of Worcester's opening league match at Otley earlier this month, for criticism.

"Mr Wigglesworth saw punching in front of him," said Keast. "He flagged and we got penalised for getting punched!

"He sent Chris Hall off earlier in the season for punching so where's the consistency?

"It's fair to say, I wasn't happy with the officials."
