BROMSGROVE Rovers boss George Rooney hopes to add another striker to his squad this week.

Rooney is hopeful of securing the services of a Dr Martens Premier Division hitman within the next few days.

Although the identity of the possible arrival is under wraps, Rooney said: "We might have a replacement striker come in the back end of this week.

"He is a Premier Division striker who has done really well in this division (Western) with one of his previous clubs and we feel that by maybe getting him in it could give us the lift (Mark) Bellingham does."

Bellingham, whose appearances are limited because of his police work commitments, has scored in both the games he has featured in since his addition to the squad, including scoring and creating one in last Saturday's 3-0 victory over Clevedon Town.

And Rooney believes Bellingham has been a much-needed catalyst in the Rovers ranks, along with the midfield trio of Steve Frost, Ross Collins and Grant Beckett.

Rooney added: "I don't think it's a coincidence that when Mark Bellingham has played we have scored six goals."

Despite Collins and Beckett going off injured against Clevedon and Frost still carrying a hamstring niggle, they should all be fit for this Saturday's trip to Dr Martens Western basement side Cinderford Town.

It is a match Rooney is wary of. He said: "I don't think you can take anything for granted. This is proving to be a real cup tie match after cup tie match. We need to catch up and we are going there in the right frame of mind."

But as one striker looks set to arrive, so another leaves. Romi Cammock has left for Pelsall Villa despite being at the Victoria Ground less than a month.
