PEOPLE are promised a great live music event when a special Blues night is launched.

It's hoped the new night, which is being held at The Railway in Evesham, will become a regular feature - but it depends on how successful the opening night is.

Popular regional blues duo blues Anoraks are launching the acoustic blues event on Wednesday, January 28.

Blues Anoraks consist of Bill Pullen and Dave Camp.

"I used to organise the monthly blues nights at Broadway's Crown & Trumpet, which are still flourishing, and prove there is a demand for good blues music in the area," says Bill.

"Hopefully some of their regulars will support Dave and I on our first night to allow this to take off as well.

"I can say that if it becomes a regular gig, I hope the Broadway favourites will appear at Evesham also."

Blues Anoraks will be playing at The Railway for the first event, then other bands will be booked for future gigs.

"We are loud and rocking for an acoustic duo," says Bill, who plays harmonica and sings.

"Dave and I got the band together 18 months ago, to do the occasional gig.

"We progressed from there to one or two residencies."

Bill was in a band around 25 years ago, but gave it up.

"I decided to try it again 10 years ago after going to folk clubs," he says.

Bill recently picked up his old love, blues-harp playing and blues vocals.

The Blues Anoraks Railway blues night takes place at 8.30pm at The Railway, on High Street, Evesham.
