KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Jan Molby today vowed that his relegation fighters will not be stepping off the gas following their dramatic upturn in fortunes.

Harriers have climbed nine points clear of the Nationwide League Division Three drop zone after winning three of their last four matches, including their biggest victory of the season on Saturday when they crushed York City 4-1 at Aggborough.

Their improved form has pushed them into 15th place in the table and Molby now wants his troops to secure their survival as quickly as possible.

He said: "Of course there's always a danger of stepping off the gas, but we certainly won't. There are players in the dressing room who won't allow that to happen."

The Dane believes he now has the strongest side since he returned to the Aggborough 'hot-seat' in October.

He said: "I'm not suggesting we're going to win every game we are going to play. But even if we don't you still feel that when the next match comes along we've more than an even chance because, as a whole, we have improved.

"We're better in the majority of the things we do in games and I just think that slowly the team is turning and getting better.

"We had a spell at the end of December and early January where we were the same distance away from relegation and we also had a good spell November, December with the FA Cup run as well. But I still felt we were fragile going into games. I still believed that things needed to fall for us and you never felt 100 per cent confident.

"But sending this team out now I feel better. I feel we've got strength, are much more organised and we're capable of dealing with whatever problems others are going to chuck at us during games.

"I think players have got others now they can look at and know 'he's 100 per cent with me', people like Adrian Viveash, Mark Yates and Dean Keates."

Harriers will be without left-back Scott Stamps on Saturday when they visit Leyton Orient following his sending off at Doncaster Rovers recently.

Molby may make positional changes or take on another loan player.

It was feared Harriers had used their entire allocation of eight loan signings this season following the arrival of Viveash. However, the Football Association have confirmed the loan deal that saw Adam Murray arrive from Derby County in August has been wiped from the records as the midfielder has now signed permanently.
