KIDDERMINSTER Harriers aim to secure their first away win since Boxing Day in tonight's Division Three clash at Scunthorpe United (7.30).

Since winning 2-1 at Yeovil Town on December 26, Harriers have gone seven matches on the road without tasting victory.

Their recent improved form, however, has boosted hopes of success tonight against mid-table Scunthorpe.

Aggborough director of football Jan Molby has seen his side climb ten points clear of the drop zone after losing just one of their last five matches.

He said: "We have to keep the improvement going, but it's always a difficult game at Scunthorpe. A couple of weeks ago you would have fancied us but of late they have found a couple of wins so it's going to be tough.

"But if we can play like we did in the second half at Leyton Orient on Saturday and like we have played in our last two home games, then there's got to be every chance we can take something from it."

Midfielder Mark Yates, who scored Harriers equaliser from the penalty spot in a 1-1 draw at Orient, said: "We're proving to be a difficult side to beat and if we can keep it going for the rest of the season we can start climbing the table.

"We looked at Orient and tonight's match as games where we had really got to work hard just to get something out of them. We know it's going to be tough tonight but the with resilience and attitude that we showed in the second half on Saturday then hopefully we'll be alright."

Harriers will be lifted by the return of full-back Scott Stamps who missed the Orient game because of a one-match ban.

Defender Matt Gadsby, however, is ruled out after suffering a badly bruised leg at Brisbane Road.

"He won't be out for long, he did some jogging in training yesterday," said Molby, who also revealed that Harriers have terminated the contract of midfielder Rob Betts.

He made just ten appearances this season and Molby said: "He's a good lad, has a good attitude and trains hard but just hasn't been able to force his way into the team."

Tomorrow Harriers will take part in a friendly at Port Vale when midfielder Lee Jenkins will play as part of his recovery schedule following a knee operation. Striker Bo Henriksen, who has been dogged by injury, will also be included along with a handful of triallists.

FORMCAST: Harriers and Scunthorpe to draw 1-1.
