ROSS Collins (pictured) is on the verge of leaving Bromsgrove Rovers for his former club Halesowen Town.

Rovers boss George Rooney has received an approach from local rivals the Yeltz for his midfielder.

Rooney said he wanted to keep Collins, injured for the early part of the season, but looks resigned to losing him if money comes into play.

"We have had seven days notice from Halesowen Town for him," Rooney added. "They have got the right to speak to him after seven days. If it becomes a financial issue then we are not in the race."

Any move would go through less than two weeks before the Dr Martens League transfer deadline passes on March 31.

Rooney wants to add to his squad before then but this week lost out to Halesowen in a final attempt to sign former Hednesford Town striker Nathan Lamey.

But Rovers look set to have Mark Bellingham available for the rest of the campaign following an agreement with West Midlands Police. Bellingham made his debut in January's 3-3 home draw with Team Bath, who Rovers go to this Saturday.
