MAY I commend your reporter, Alex Earnshaw, for attempting alternative forms of transport.
I walk, cycle, rather than drive across Worcester and am familiar with the route that he undertook. An alternative cycle route, albeit longer, could be the canal, accessed from the Blackpole area and exiting through the Arboretum.
