THEY'RE big, pacy and powerful but Barry Woolley is relishing locking horns with highly-rated Martyrs' duo Cortez Belle and Garry Shephard tomorrow.

The Merthyr Tydfil strike-force helped shoot down leaders Crawley Town in mid-week and will be bidding to upset the odds against Worcester City at St George's Lane tomorrow.

For Woolley, the Dr Martens Premier Division clash has added significance because it will be his first league start at St George's Lane since New Year's Day.

The 24-year-old has been a frustrated on-looker since tweaking his thigh muscle in a Dr Martens Cup clash against Moor Green.

But he reclaimed his place alongside Carl Heeley at Havant & Waterlooville last weekend when Jon Holloway underwent surgery on his troublesome groin.

Woolley, who had his hands full with Belle during City's 2-0 win at Penydarren Park back in August, is wary of the Welsh challenge which has been boosted by the recent arrival of Shephard from Newport County.

"Cortez was good in the air, quick and strong and it said it all when they beat Crawley," said Woolley.

"They are no mugs and are going to be really up for the game to make sure they get one of the top 13 promotion slots.

"Garry Shephard is also a very good player and makes it even more difficult.

"We need a win to set up Monday night against Crawley and hopefully if we win we can draw a big crowd."

Woolley has twice lost his place through injury this season, cracking two ribs against Crawley, but his patience has been rewarded with the opportunity to retain his place until the end of the current campaign.

"It's like John Barton said if I had not been injured I would still be in the team. But when you come out of the team it is hard to get back in," he said.

"We've been quite fortunate in that when either myself, Jon or Carl has been injured, ones been available to slot straight back in and it's worked out pretty well."

"It's a great club, big support and it would be nice to have a good run to the end of the season so that it doesn't die a death," he added.

City's recent form is a far cry from a 14 match run during September, October and November when they won just three times.

"It was frustrating because I was injured when the team was having a bad run and I couldn't do anything about it," said Woolley.

"I think if we had not had that bad patch we would be clear at the top but every team goes through those spells no matter who you are.

"It's just about getting consistency and everyone showing how good they are.

"Adam Wilde is back to his best and the reason Leon Kelly's been doing so well is that he's got better players around him giving him more service and support."

FORMCAST: City to win 3-1.
