CHAIRMAN Tom Herbert has warned his Bromsgrove Rovers players they can't afford to lose tomorrow's derby with Evesham United at the Victoria Ground (3pm).

Managerless Rovers are chasing one-step promotion to the Dr Martens Premier Division next season.

And Herbert, who is assisting caretaker boss Steve Pope along with player Dave Benton and reserve manager Dave Connell, has set a target of winning all six of their remaining matches.

"We must win tomorrow, and every remaining match," he said.

Herbert believes he's got the backing of the players, despite George Rooney's abrupt departure in midweek.

He has boosted the squad with the signing of former England midfielder Andy Sinton and ex-Rovers keeper Matt Lowe.

"I'm not worried about George Rooney - the players are behind me," said Herbert. "We're sorry to see George go but some of these players have been with me for four-and-a-half years and at the end of the day are up for the challenge."

Kevin Banner (dead leg) is doubtful.

Meanwhile, Evesham boss Dave Busst hopes Rooney's resignation will work in his side's favour.

"You can take it two ways. I know Steve Pope is taking over but I hope the players will have been disrupted by what's happened and that we catch them when their minds are not on the job," said Busst.

"We had a close game against them at our place. They beat us 1-0 but we deserved something and we want to avenge that."

Evesham will be without the suspended Lee Knight, who still has a two-match ban hanging over his head following the abandonment of last weekend's clash with Gloucester City due to the weather.

Busst has drafted in West Brom youngster Tony Warmer to boost numbers ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

United are set to start with the same side that began the game against Gloucester although Busst intends to give Worcester City loan signing Dan Parker a run out in central defence after he impressed in training.

"Dan's come to get some games and he's an option for us," said Busst.

"I didn't bring him in against Gloucester because it would have been a baptism of fire for him.

"I've been quite impressed with him in training and I might give him the last half-an-hour to have a good look at him."

"Tony Warmer is set to be released by West Brom and I've brought him in for extra numbers ahead of the deadline."
