Worcester City manager John Barton has been handed a triple fitness boost ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Merthyr.

Adam Wilde (hamstring), Danny McDonnell (elbow) and John Snape (calf) are all set to declare themsleves fit as fourth-placed City go into tomorrow's Dr Martens Premier Division clash seeking a sixth successive league win at St George's Lane (3pm).

However, Paul Carty (knee) will miss both tomorrow's match and Monday's game with Crawley, also at home, with Shabir Khan set to continue in his place at left-back.

Utility player Jon Holloway is also likely to sit out the weekend's action as he recuperates from surgery on a groin injury.

Merthyr arrive at the Lane having lost just once in their last eight league matches. The run has br-ought them four away wins including completing the double over leaders Crawley.

City, however, start as favourites, but Barton believes the league table can be forgotten as far as being a pointer to the outcome of tomorrow's result.

"It's one of those matches where you can disregard the league table," he said. "I think Crawley have been the best team and anybody who beats them, let alone does the double, commands instant respect.

"Crawley have been winning games comfortably so looking at Merthyr's results shows they must be respected.

"They've changed their side around a bit and brought in one or two players and are a decent side."

Barton remains confident of a successful outcome, but says his side must defend well.

"We'll be stressing to the players that they must apply themselves as they have been doing. If we do, we've got a good chance of getting a result as long as we don't let our defensive standards slip as we did at Weymouth," he said.

Meanwhile, Worcester City Supporters Trust is officially launched at St George's Lane social club tonight from 8pm.

It's an open evening aimed at recruiting members and includes a fans forum with Barton, captain Carl Heeley and chairman Dave Boddy.
