THE fight for Nationwide League Division Three survival at Kidderminster Harriers is hotting up.

As far as director of football Jan Molby is concerned it's a battle he's determined to win.

The former Liverpool star's side are just seven points clear of relegation with eight games to go.

And in a bid to boost their fortunes, Molby spent a hectic transfer deadline day sorting out a number of comings and goings among the playing ranks.

Crowd favourite Bo Henriksen was one of the surprise departures, proving that no-one is safe when it comes to keeping Kidderminster as the county's only Football League club.

Harriers play a major part in the Wyre Forest community and manage to keep their financial heads above water despite poor attendances.

Much of the credit for their Football League survival must go to chairman Colin Youngjohns.

He's fully aware the club cannot compete financially with many other Division Three clubs, but has total faith in Molby to make sure Harriers avoid the dreaded drop back into the Nationwide Conference.

Molby believes Kidderminster need just two more wins from their last eight matches to retain their status.

He knows that there is no room for sentiment in football.

Players who are not coming up with the goods cannot expect to stay.

Striker Henriksen found that out yesterday when his two-and-a -half-year spell with the club came to an end when he joined Bristol Rovers on a free transfer.
